In years past, Illinois coach Ron Zook employed the 24-hour rule when the Illini won. Players had 24 hours to revel in their victory before casting it aside and preparing for the next challenge.

After Illinois snapped a seven-game Big Ten losing streak with its 38-13 victory over Michigan on Saturday, Zook allowed his guys to celebrate until they hit the practice field late Monday afternoon to start prepping for this week's visit to Minnesota.

"I wanted them to enjoy what happened," Zook said. "I think sometimes what happens after a win is you put it to bed so early and go on to the next game, you don't really get to enjoy it.
