Shortly before the start of spring practice, first-year Hawaii coach Norm Chow announced he would serve as the team's quarterbacks coach. Chow has developed a long line of successful quarterbacks, from Jim McMahon, Steve Young and Ty Detmer to Phillip Rivers, Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. So who's next?
Juniors David Graves and Cayman Shutter were sitting atop the depth chart at quarterback when spring ball began March 21, but Shutter was facing a possible suspension after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving March 29. Shutter's legal troubles could create an opening for Ikaika Woolsey, a freshman who was rated the No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the nation at Salesian High School in Richmond, Calif.
