After a string of stinging losses, the Connecticut Huskies finally won one for their slain teammate. Coach Randy Edsall called the Huskies' double-overtime victory against Notre Dame the program's "best win."    It is very possible that last weekend's 33-30 two-OT victory over Notre Dame is the biggest win in UConn football history. It is also extremely likely that without a strong finish, this will still go down as a disappointing season.

  Even with the huge win in South Bend, the Huskies enter the weekend at 5-5, one win short of being bowl-eligible and two away from a definite bowl trip. There's no margin for error remaining, which makes the final two home games against Syracuse and South Florida crucial.

  The good news for Randy Edsall and his coaching staff is that Big East rival Rutgers did his team a huge favor a week ago by losing to Syracuse. Before that, the Orangemen were winless in the Big East, buried at the bottom of the standings and going ...More
