With coach Dan Hawkins in jeopardy of losing his job, he opened up about another a member of his family.

Son Cody happens to be a member of the CU football squad and was the starting quarterback during the start of this season before sophomore Tyler Hansen came out of a redshirt in game five.

Cody Hawkins, who engineered a touchdown drive late in the first half to give the Buffaloes a halftime lead in their 31-28 loss at Oklahoma State on Nov. 19, has been the victim of attacks by fans on both his Facebook page and on messages to his cell phone.

This much his father revealed leading into a Nov. 27 clash against Nebraska. The matchup with the Big 12 North champ is anti-climatic for Colorado, which at 3-8 overall is out of postseason contention.

University of Colorado coach Dan Hawkins says in hindsight he would not have recruited his son Cody to play quarterback for him. Dan Hawkins, speaking at his weekly news conference Monday, said bringing in his son in his first recruiting class in 2006 was not fair to Cody. "Here's a guy who's trying to do his best to win games and help his team and does everything right and is a good...
