   Probably the worst news Clemson could have gotten heading into its game against Florida State would be that the Tigers will be missing a key pass rusher for the potentially pivotal contest.

   And that's exactly the word they got.

   The knee injury to defensive end Da'Quan Bowers early in the win over Coastal Carolina is more serious than first thought. He is not expected to play against Florida State, which features the league's most prolific passer in Christian Ponder. Ponder, who is throwing for nearly 307 yards a game, has sore ribs but is expected to be ready.

   Bower has three sacks for the season, and with Ricky Sapp (four sacks) at the other end, has given Clemson the league's top pass rush.
