The Chippewas enter their regular season finale against Northern Illinois trying to guard against overconfidence. Central Michigan, 9-2 and 7-0, wrapped up the MAC West Division title last week by virtue of its win over Ball State and NIU's loss at Ohio.

The Chippewas can accomplish several individual and team goals by knocking off the Huskies. A win would give the Chippewas their first unbeaten, untied MAC regular season record in school history. The Chippewas can notch their first unbeaten home season since 1988, and claim the fifth 10-win season in school history.

Central Michigan coach Butch Jones said motivation won't be an issue against the Huskies.

"We have what we call our program goals that never change," Jones said.

Dan LeFevour threw four touchdown passes, ran for a fifth score and became the all-time leading passer in Mid-American Conference history as he led Central Michigan to a 35-3 victory over Ball State on Wednesday night. The senior quarterback ignored a steady rain to complete 25 of 28 passes for 344 yards and no interceptions before taking a seat midway through the fourth quarter.
