The Broncos entered spring ball with three pressing questions: who would play quarterback, who would emerge on the defensive line and would the kicking game improve?

They only got answers to one of them.

The four players competing at quarterback did a nice job throughout the spring but didn't sort anything out. Junior Joe Southwick, the two-year backup, entered and exited as the favorite. He was terrific in the Spring Game, leading three scoring drives in four tries—including a game-winning touchdown drive with the second-team offense in the final two minutes.
