Chris Todd threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns, completing his first 14 passes, as Auburn cruised to an easy 63-31 win over Furman on Saturday. Todd threw three touchdown passes to Darvin Adams for the Tigers (7-3), who scored on six of their first seven possessions to jump out to a 42-3 halftime lead.

Auburn players and coaches are vowing that Saturday's Homecoming game against Furman will be taken with as much seriousness as any of their previous nine games.

"I go back to us preparing like we do every week and really putting our blinders on and focusing on the opponent," coach Gene Chizik said.

"It doesn't matter who it is. It doesn't matter where we are playing. We have got to prepare the way we always have and if we do that, we have a chance to win."

The chances are significantly increased anytime you play against an FCS school, but Auburn players still have a bitter taste in their mouths after last year's way-too-close, 37-21 victory over UT-Martin.

"We're going to keep our same focus," linebacker Josh Bynes.

Etheridge: After neck injury, walking "a miracle" (AP)

Auburn safety Zac Etheridge feels blessed to be able to walk after a serious neck injury and expects to play football again. With his neck immobilized by a brace, Etheridge spoke to reporters and teammates Tuesday, three days after sustaining an injury in the Mississippi game that landed him in the hospital for two nights.

Auburn safety Zac Etheridge was carried off the field on a backboard after a collision with teammate Antonio Coleman in the first quarter against Mississippi. The two players banged helmets at the end of a running play Saturday. Etheridge appeared to have hurt his neck and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, but Auburn officials said he was able to move all his extremities.
