There wasn't much wrong with Arizona State's defense last season. It was the offense that was abysmal.
That is why coach Dennis Erickson signed five junior college players on offense (and six overall). They will join with two four-year transfers who will be eligible in 2010—quarterback Steven Threet from Michigan and receiver Aaron Pflugrad from Oregon—to try to jump-start an offense that averaged 22.3 points per game last season.
No doubt, the junior college transfers stand out in Arizona State's signing class of 26 players.
