University of Miami coach Randy Shannon said Sunday he has received phone calls from five freshmen presently at other schools inquiring about transferring to Miami.

Though Shannon cannot mention names by NCAA rules, one, according to reports, is believed to be University of Florida receiver Deonte Thompson, who picked the Gators over the Hurricanes last February. Thompson, however, has yet to ask for a transfer. When asked about Thompson's desire to leave, Florida coach Urban Meyer did not answer reporters.

Hmmmm, how can you be "the best" and still be up and coming? UF right now is the best but Miami is the up and coming school moron. The QB Miami has red-shirted is the guy who broke all of Tebows Florida passing records and they have nearly the whole entire Northwestern team coming next year.
You know who Northwestern is right? It's the #1 High School team IN THE NATION. They are being called the beat Florida High School team EVER!!

Are you serious? Broke all of Tebow's record's huh. Maybe passing, but Tebow holds the record of all time yardage accrued from his passing and running. Don't think anyone will touch that for a while. Besides, Miami and there fans have been promising ressurection for a while. No more glory days for ya'll my friend. And ya'll would rather fight on the field than play. haha So sad to see how far the 'Canes have fallen.

got news for ya... dt isnt leaving uf. yes his skill levels are about where um receivers are (thats why he is on the bench), but his upside is, which doesnt qualify him to be a um player, hes a good kid. he values a real education, in the classroom and on the field. hes not really into kicking other players heads in while they are laying on the field. i am sure, if he even at uf, that he is coach-able and not the typical um thug, with fake gold cross the size of a wall hanging and 10ct zirconium ear rings in each ear and a mouth full of gold teeth. ums football team may get better, but until shannan instills some serious ethics and kicks some of these bad kids off the team, to make a statement, um will always be playing second, third, forth, even fifth fiddle to the other florida schools, including usf, ucf, fsu, and a
