Scouting Report on T.J. Stripling

On the Hoof: Has broad shoulders and thin waist with a frame that can put on 40 more pounds. His arms are very long, and he will remind some people of Cincinnati Bengal Michael Johnson out of high school.
Needs Improvement: Stripling needs to work on technique, because he relies too much on speed rushing. He needs to get thicker and stronger all over because he is a bit thin.
Most Impressive: He is ultra-competitive, and has one of the fastest get-offs to go along with superior overall athleticism and balance. His frame is the blueprint for a weakside defensive end.
Conclusion: Will most likely be used on coverage teams and as a pass rusher on third downs as a true freshman. The earlier he is able to put on weight, the sooner he will be an every-down starter. Stripling has the makings of a multiple all-league performer.
