Ryan Miller

Miller has a tall frame and plenty of room for added weight. He gets out of his stance quickly, has excellent feet and extends his arms well in both the run and passing game. He’s very explosive and plays with a defender’s mentality and a nasty streak. Miller is an excellent left tackle prospect who will grow into a 320-pounder. He uses his wingspan very well and forces pass rushers to the outside and out of the play. He shows good balance when handling the bull rush and has a tight end’s athleticism at this stage which allows him to get to the second level and fend off opponents with his long arms. Miller needs to get much stronger and relies more on his long frame than on strength to dominate opponents. He engages well and is very effective when he gets his hands in the proper position, although he sometimes ducks his head and reaches too much. Miller is very agile and is excellent at pulling or getting out in front on sweeps and outside runs. He tends to keep his hands outside his opponents shoulders too much and attempt to envelope them, but as he gets stronger and gets coached up this won’t be an issue. Miller adjusts well to moving targets and is quick enough to engage, break off and engage another defender on the same play.
