Scouting Report on Robert Woods

How we scouted: Film footage, In-person visits, Game setting, Campby Barry Every - 08/13/2009

  • AthleticismBlue Chip
On the Hoof: Has ideal height for a safety or wide receiver at the next level. He is a tad on the thin side but has the frame to hold another 20-25 pounds easily.
Needs Improvement: Will need to improve strength and muscular mass if he is to win jump balls and get off the jam as a receiver. As a defender, the added muscle mass will only increase the pain he puts on unsuspecting ball carriers.
Most Impressive: He may not look like it in person, but on film he looks and hits like an aggressive linebacker that happens to have serious ball skills and lateral pursuit. He also has the ability to come through in clutch games when the chips are down.
Conclusion: Will most likely make his impact on the offensive side of the ball. He is too fast and electrifying with the ball in his hands to not give that a shot first. Plus, receiver is an easier position to learn because it is proactive.
