On the Hoof: A big, thick kid that has the appearance of a fullback or inside linebacker. He has very thick legs with and excellent powerbase for support. His upper body is thick but not quite as defined as other leaner running backs.
Needs Improvement: Would like him to improve overall speed a tad and run with more forward body lean, especially before contact.
Most Impressive: Very nimble on his feet for a big back, and he is a threat as a pass receiver out of the backfield. He also possesses the size to do damage on defenses by wearing them down over the course of a game. He also is one of the nation's premiere linebackers - when he gets a chance to showcase his skills there.
Conclusion: Jones could project as three positions at the next level - running back, fullback or inside linebacker. But I expect he will be given a shot at running back, which is the position he feels most comfortable with. Has the size to compete early, especially as a short-yardage and goal-line weapon.
