On the Hoof: Tall offensive lineman with wide shoulders and thick limbs. Easily has the frame to add another 30 pounds of muscle mass. Has a similar size and build to Ohio State’s Michael Brewster.
Needs Improvement: Joeckel must improve the quickness of his pass set in order to be an effective pass blocker. He also must keep his feet when finishing off defenders rather than going to the ground.
Most Impressive: Very good run-blocker that understands hand placement and using the full length of his arms to keep defenders away. He plays with a bit of a nasty streak, as he loves shoving defensive linemen to the ground and falling on them.
Conclusion: Has the smarts and size to make the two-deep as a true freshman. Look for him to become a three-year starter with the ability to play either tackle position.
