Josh Brent

Brent could play defensive end in a 3-4 set or tackle in a 4-3. He has impressive agility for a big man, keeps his feet well and has above average pursuit speed. He’s very strong and takes on blockers well, often using his hands to push them off balance as the play comes at him. He works his way down the line well and is adept at working back into the play if he overcommits to the pass rush. His pass rushing moves are a bit basic and he’ll need to be more versatile in that area, but he gets off the ball well and stays low. Brent explodes into his hits and plays very physical. He’s excellent in traffic and avoids cut blocks well. A very active defender with an excellent motor.
