CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—Washaun Ealey ran for a touchdown, Jacksonville State quarterback Coty Blanchard rushed for another and the Gamecocks’ defense returned three turnovers for TDs in a 44-14 rout of Austin Peay on Saturday night.
Ealey ran for 124 yards on 18 carries to lead the Gamecocks (5-1, 4-0 Ohio Valley Conference). Blanchard was 10 of 19 for 130 yards and an interception, adding 25 yards and a score on 12 carries.
The Jacksonville State defense matched the offense in scoring, though, as Brooks Robinson picked up a fumble and rumbled 32 yards just before the break for a 28-7 halftime lead. Ben Endress’s 10-yard interception return for a touchdown with 3:37 to play and Jamaal Johnson’s 45-yard interception return just over a minute later sealed the scoring.
Jake Ryan was 16 of 31 for 172 yards with one touchdown but was intercepted five times for the Governors (2-4, 2-2).
