Carter leads UC Davis over North Dakota 28-20
DAVIS, Calif. (AP)—Senior receiver Chris Carter had nine catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday to help UC Davis claim a 28-20 victory against North Dakota and the Great West Conference title.
Greg Denham completed 25 of 37 passes for 284 yards and three touchdowns for the Aggies (6-4, 3-1), who won their second conference championship in four years.
The Fighting Sioux (5-5, 2-2) shaved the UC Davis lead to 14-13 in the third quarter, but Josh Reese’s 1-yard touchdown run, defensive back Kenneth Brown’s interception, and Carter’s 8-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter sealed the victory for the Aggies.
Jake Landry completed 13 of 24 passes for 107 yards and a TD and Ryan Konrath caught a 21-yard score for North Dakota.
