NORMAN, Okla. (AP)—A week after throwing five interceptions, Landry Jones passed for a career-high 392 yards and five touchdowns—two to DeMarco Murray— as Oklahoma became bowl-eligible with a 65-10 rout of Texas A&M on Saturday night.

Murray rushed 18 times for 80 yards and had five catches for 143 yards for Oklahoma (6-4, 4-2 Big 12), which put the game away in the first half by taking advantage of three lost fumbles by Texas A&M (5-5, 2-4), two of those on kick returns.

Jones completed 24 of 39 passes as Oklahoma rolled up season highs in offense (640 yards) and points. Chris Brown, Ryan Broyles and Adron Tennell scored two touchdowns each for Oklahoma, which has won seven straight against the Aggies. The Sooners have won 29 straight home games, the longest active streak in the FBS.

The Sooners’ oft-criticized offensive line, which lost two more starters to injury a week earlier in a 10-3 loss to Nebraska, again had its share of miscues, but it didn’t allow a sack against an Aggie defense that entered the game third in the FBS in that category.

Oklahoma’s defense limited Texas A&M to 226 yards of offense. Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson completed 12 of 33 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown and the Aggies managed only 59 rushing yards.

A week after failing to score a touchdown against Nebraska—and subsequently falling out of the Top 25 for the first time since 2005—Oklahoma put 42 points on the scoreboard in the first half.

Oklahoma led 7-0 before its first offensive snap as Brian Jackson returned a fumble by Christine Michael 52 yards for a touchdown. The Sooners went up 14-0 on receiver Broyles’ first career rushing touchdown, on a 25-yard reverse.

Michael Hodges intercepted a Jones pass and returned it 28 yards to the Oklahoma 6, setting up the Aggies’ only first-half touchdown, a 9-yard pass from Johnson to Jeff Fuller that made it 14-10. But Texas A&M’s significant issues in the return game allowed the Sooners to pull away.

Oklahoma’s Keenan Clayton recovered a fumbled punt by Colt Valencia at the Texas A&M 22, and Jones subsequently hit Broyles on a 5-yard touchdown pass. Brown capped an 85-yard Oklahoma scoring drive with a 6-yard touchdown run to make it 28-10. After the Aggies went three-and-out, Murray’s 36-yard catch-and-run touchdown put the Sooners ahead 35-10.

Cyrus Gray fumbled while returning the ensuing kickoff and Oklahoma’s Ronnell Lewis recovered at the Aggies 25. Jones threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Tennell 54 seconds before halftime.

Murray took a screen pass from Jones and cut right-to-left across the field during a 67-yard touchdown play, putting Oklahoma ahead 48-10 less than two minutes into the second half. It was the longest reception of Murray’s career.

Ya never know when Landry will go down. Got another quaterback with any experience...no. So if you like to keep Landry in the 4th quarter of the game and he gets hurt or for that matter any of your first string when you are up 50+ points then don't whine about injuries. Ya done it to yourselves.

BTW Tech is tied with OU in sacks....both leading the nation in that category. Tech has two quarterbacks. Landry gets stomped now what?? Defense only will carry you so far. Look at the OSU game.....luckily they were able to field a Quarterback in the second half. They are the leading rushing team in the Big 12 but without a good quarterback and the ability to throw..... no whining if Landry goes down now because of a lack of a Quarterback with experience....OU traded a backup for more reps for Landry.... we shall see if that gamble wins....

Oh Johnny, feeling Texas envy? When has Mack Brown run up the score? He is actually known for not doing that. Its why many people thought we were left out of the NC game last year. Its ok to be mad, I know you wish you have been having the recent success that Texas has. Oh well, enjoy the day, its beautiful here in Austin.

Are you serious Curtis? You want to take out a redshirt FRESHMAN QB, the future of OU's program, who has shown with his inconsistent play this year that he needs all the reps he can get, so we can get a guy who has been redshirted on the field? Argain, are you for real? You want to burn Drew Allen's redshirt to get him some reps in garbage time against Texas A&M?? Thats a terrible idea. Also, there is no such thing as running up the score in the 3rd quarter. No one sits starters until the 4th quarter. I don't think you know much about football my friend...

Yeah, we've been playing with back-up players at most positions on offense all season long. I really don't think we could've put any one else in except for the water-boys and trainers. THESE COMPLAINTS ARE BS! Sorry agg-holes we played with who we had and you still, simply couldn't hang. This season is all about getting our legs under us for next season. It wasn't our plan originally but it's what we've got to focus on now. These guys are getting some great experience as youngsters, playing close games against great teams. They are on the fast-track to becoming veteran ball-players. They will be WAAAYYYYY tougher next season!

My mistake, after looking at the scores this weekend there were 5 other teams that scored in the 50's and 60's. OU had the highest amount of points, Boise St. scored 63, Arkansas had 56, TCU and Stanford both had 55 and Nevada had 52. These are all teams who scored big, but no one is saying they were running up the score. OU has lost so many to injuries these are practically all inexperienced players. They're just building their confidence to prepare for the next two games, which will be the real test!!!

All in all, with whatever players were on the field, starters or not, Sooners rocked this weekend!!! BOOMER SOONER!!!

who were the other 2 teams? from what i saw, the highest margin anyone (except OU obviously) won by was 39 points. i'm seeing a lot of excuses but no real strategic reasoning behind needing to score 55 points with the starters. no heisman hopes, no bcs bowl, maybe a top 25 ranking by the end of the season...what was the purpose beyond pride? you honestly think the sooners wouldn't have been happy with a 45-10 win? i've already said that i agree that the score should move up, but to keep the same people in the whole game is just dangerous. compatibility is important with a team, but they shouldn't focus that compatibility on just a single group of players. i hate how texas focuses on mccoy and shipley simply because it seems like there's little room to grow once they're gone. i would think it unfortunate if the OU offense got too comfortable with 1 specific rotation and some of the key players got hurt. then it's square one all over again.

There were two other teams who had big numbers over other schools yesterday!!! It's not about running up the score---as I said---everyone is trying to make a point. Those two school are trying to show that they can score and score big to compete with all the bigger schools in the BCS. Obviously, with a season like this one, OU is trying to get back their confidence and get all these newer players comfortable on the field. First quarter started to go bad again, dropped passes, tipped interception, but finally, they started to click and get on a roll again. If A&M can't keep up, not our fault!!!

OU's defense was way better than A&Ms offense and the offense finally got things together.
'Stache see what you can do when you look off a receiver every now and then.

5 starters out. They needed to play 1st string the entire game because they just became 1st string. They need all the playing time they can get. After last week Landry needed all the reps he can get. Running up the score???? seriously??? The score would have been much higher if that were the case! Boomer Sooner.

OU didn't run the score up on aTm, Texas aTm just couldn't stop them, what is Stoops supposed to do,quit playing or call the game off because aTm can't play football, personally I would have taken Landry out in the 3 quarter, but if you will notice not to many passes by OU in the fourth quarter.... BOOMER SOONERS!!!

don't get me wrong, i applaud OU with taking control and winning this game. a great team with its great lineage does not deserve to get embarrassed like they have been this season. i may have been a little harsh with the classless comment, however i stand by the rest of my comments. there's no reason to keep the first string in if you're already ahead by 30+ points. any points by defense can't really be helped...you can't predict or call a play for an interception or fumble, they're all "do what you can to break through to the end zone"...i've never heard of an interception route to run. the play call is for coverage. i also agree with the "keep scoring" idea, but i don't think it's right for OU to have kept jones in the game being as far ahead as they were...give allen a chance to toss the ball around....let him get some game experience so that it's not a shock when/if jones gets tired or hurt.

Teams do it to prove a point! Classless is a bit harsh, after a game like last week they needed a huge confidence booster! You watch, Texas will start doing more of that when they're trying to get more BCS points! Then all you UT fans won't be complaining it will be "oh they're the best, look at their scoring..." bla freakin' bla!!!

johnny, so far all i see posting are a bunch of sooner fans. to the actual fans, whether it be OU, UT, or even Stanford (even though, i agree, USC deserved it) there's a point where you have to look at the scoreboard, keep your defense in check and let the backups on the field to get their experience. what happens if , god forbid, jones gets hurt? allen will be lost...he hasn't thrown the ball at all this season. when you're already ahead by 30+ points, why not throw the second string in and let them work? i agree, i've seen awesome comebacks also, but not too often when the only points scored are in the first quarter. since texas was mentioned, they found themselves ahead by 40 at the half and decided to start playing the bench thereafter. they weren't as productive, but at least they got play experience.

with as many banged up players the Sooners have, the ones that are on the field need as much time playing together as possible. let's see, the sixth different o-line arrangement this season. Jones needed a game like this to get his $hit together on field and Kevin Wilson needs to watch this over and over again and see what diversity in play calling can do for a team.

now in respects to running up the score, if the other team cant stop you, thats their fault. if you want to keep using that argument, then the running-up started at the end of the first quarter, when TxAM failed to score anymore.

There is no such thing as running up the score....especially when you are talking about the 3rd quarter.

If you go for two in the final minute of the game while you have a 30 point lead...I might consider that running up the score.

But if you look at all the miracle comebacks that have taken place...you should not stop scoring to be kind. At least not until the last possession when you have secured the win.

Stanford ran up the score on USC...but you know what? Good for them. USC deserved it.
