Skelton leads Fordham past Bucknell 21-7

NEW YORK (AP)—John Skelton passed for 305 yards and a touchdown and Fordham defeated Bucknell 21-7 on Saturday.

Skelton was 28 for 33 and reached 300 yards for the sixth time this season. He is 14 completions shy of Kevin Eakin’s school record of 247 and 155 yards shy of Eakin’s record 3,072, both set in 2003.

The Rams (4-5, 1-3 Patriot League) held Bucknell (3-6, 1-3) to 254 yards and scoreless in the second half.

Jason Caldwell caught 12 passes for 135 yards for Fordham.

Justin Pulgrano gave Bucknell a 7-0 lead with a 6-yard TD run with 9:01 left in the second quarter.

Xavier Martin tied it for the Rams with a 12-yard run with 1:39 left in the half.

Darryl Whiting scored on a 1-yard run with 9:08 left in the fourth to give the Rams a lead and Skelton and his brother, Stephen, with a 9-yard score with 5:20 left.
