Old Dominion beats Savannah State 38-17

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP)—DeMarco Thomas threw three touchdown passes and Old Dominion defeated Savannah State 38-17 on Saturday.

Thomas, who was 14 of 20 for 198 yards, threw two TD passes in the first half as the Monarchs (6-2) took a 17-0 lead.

Thomas opened the scoring on a 5-yard pass to Michael Williams and connected with Chris Lovitt on a 25-yard score with 7 seconds left in the first half.

Mario Crawford had 102 yards rushing on 17 carries and Thomas ran for 55 yards for Old Dominion, which secured a winning season in its first year as a football program.

Lovitt caught five passes for 75 yards in the Monarchs’ third-straight win.

Kurvin Curry had 185 yards and two touchdowns on 22-of-36 passing, and 50 yards on 16 carries for the Wildcats (1-6).

Savannah State’s Deleon Hollinger caught 10 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns.
