Wagner outlasts Sacred Heart 49-28

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (AP)—Nick Doscher had three touchdowns and compiled 288 total yards to lead Wagner in a 49-28 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Doscher was 11-for-17 passing with 157 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for the Seahawks (4-3, 3-1 Northeast Conference), and rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Jeremy Martinez ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries.

With the game tied at 28 late in the third quarter, Chaz Legette picked off Pioneers (1-6, 1-4) quarterback Dale Fink and returned it 21 yards for a score to put Wagner ahead 35-28 at the close of the frame.

Doscher connected with Tyrone Collins on a 21-yard score to put Wagner up 42-28, and Martinez ran it in from 3 yards out for the final margin.

Doscher had TD runs of 19 and 5 yards in the first half, and Martinez had a 7-yard score to open the third quarter.
