Middle Tennessee rolls over Western Kentucky 62-24

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP)—Dwight Dasher threw for three touchdowns and rushed for two more scores to lead Middle Tennessee to a 62-24 win over Western Kentucky on Saturday.

Dasher threw for a career-high 355 yards and led the Blue Raiders (4-3, 2-1 Sun Belt Conference) in rushing with 66 yards.

Middle Tennessee tied a school record with eight touchdowns. The 62 points were the ninth most in school history and the 646 total offensive yards were the third most in school history.

Dasher threw touchdown passes of 23 and 34 yards to Chris McClover and 52 yards to Harold Turner in the second quarter as Middle Tennessee took a 24-3 lead. Dasher’s 1-yard touchdown run with 1:08 left gave the Blue Raiders a 31-3 lead.

Brandon Smith led the Hilltoppers (0-7, 0-3) in rushing with 34 yards. He threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Jake Gaebler with 14:26 remaining.
