Return to OriginalSPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP)—Armanti Edwards threw for 415 yards and two touchdowns to help Appalachian State rally for a 44-34 victory over Wofford on Saturday.
Edwards was 27 of 34 and threw scoring passes of 27 and 57 yards to Brian Quick, and the Mountaineers (4-2, 3-0 Southern Conference) scored the final 24 points for their 15th consecutive conference victory.
Wofford (1-5, 0-3) took a 34-20 lead on Austin Palmer’s 2-yard run with 12:22 left in the third quarter, but Derek Moore cut the lead to 34-27 on a 48-yard run with 6:16 remaining in the third quarter.
The Mountaineers cut the lead to 34-30 before Moore, who had 25 carries for 180 yards, scored on a 1-yard run for a 37-34 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game.
Edwards’ 57-yard pass to Quick provided the winning margin with 6:48 remaining.
Mike Rucker rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on eight carries for Wofford.
