Southern U beats Fort Valley State 55-23

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP)—Bryant Lee threw three touchdowns and Gary Hollimon had three rushing scores to lead Southern University to a 55-23 win over Fort Valley State on Saturday night.

Hollimon, who finished with 115 yards rushing on six carries, scored on runs of 67 and 24 yards to give the Jaguars (4-2) a 21-10 lead in the second quarter. Andre’ Coleman returned one of Southern’s seven interceptions for a 34-yard touchdown to pull ahead by 18.

Brandon Anderson’s 3-yard touchdown run cut the lead to 28-16 in the third for the Division II Wildcats (4-3). But the Jaguars pushed their lead to 41-16 after Byron Williams’ 6-yard touchdown run and Demario Barber’s 1-yard rushing score.

Lee finished with 192 yards passing and one interception for Southern. Juamorris Stewart caught five passes for 126 yards, including touchdown catches of 28 and 14 yards in the fourth.
