PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP)—K.J. Black threw three touchdowns as Prairie View A&M exploded for 35 points in the first half en route to a 38-0 shutout over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday at Blackshear Field.

Black found Gabe Osaze-Ediae for a 69-yard reception on the team’s opening play. Four plays later, running back Donald Babers punched in the ball from the 3-yard line for the touchdown.

Overall, Black completed 17-of-23 passes for 235 yards. He hit Brandon Bell on a 28-yard touchdown pass, Marlon Allen on an 8-yard TD pass, and Osaze-Ediae on another 8-yard scoring strike.

Osaze-Ediae had five grabs for 109 yards. Barbers carried 18 times for 94 yards.

Prairie View free safety Eric Moore intercepted MVSU quarterback Marvin Pittman and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown.

The Panthers improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, while the Delta Devils dropped to 2-4 and 0-2.
