Butler stays unbeaten in 23-14 win over Valparaiso

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Ryan Hitchcock ran for two touchdowns Saturday as Butler remained undefeated with a 23-14 win over state rival Valparaiso.

Scott Gray carried the other touchdown for Butler (6-0, 3-0 Pioneer Football League) and led the game in rushing with 99 yards.

The team’s defense had four sacks and held Valparaiso (1-5, 0-3) to 249 yards. Valpo’s QBs completed just 8 of 21 passing tries.

Eli Crawford made perhaps Valparaiso’s biggest play, intercepting a third-quarter pass by Butler’s Andrew Huck and returning it 60 yards for the TD.

Quinn Schafer ran for the team’s other touchdown later in the quarter.
