Skelton leads Fordham past Cornell 39-27

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP)—John Skelton threw for 420 yards, passed for five touchdowns and rushed for a score to lead Fordham to a 39-27 win over Cornell on Saturday.

The Rams (3-3) took a 13-3 lead in the first half after Skelton connected with Jason Caldwell on 71-yard touchdown and threw a 98-yard touchdown pass to Asa Lucas. Skelton completed 20 of 27 passes and had one interception.

Skelton followed with passing scores of 58 and 50 yards to Caldwell to put Fordham ahead 26-10 in the third. The quarterback’s last touchdown throw came on a 22-yard pass to Caldwell, who finished with nine catches for 245 yards.

Skelton also scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Fordham’s Stephen Liuzza ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns for the Big Red (3-2). Bryan Waters caught 10 passes for 178 yards. Adam Currie threw for 207 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.

    I was at the game and have seen all levels of football. Skelton is for really. Sick!!!!
