Brown’s 2 TDs leads Tennessee St. to 20-17 win

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP)—Breston Brown’s 2-yard plunge late in the game gave Tennessee State a 20-17 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

A 66-yard interception return by Eugene Clifford started the scoring in the first half for Tennessee State (3-3, 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference), but the extra point was blocked. Eastern Kentucky (3-2, 3-1) added a field goal for a 6-3 halftime score.

Eastern Kentucky went ahead on a 7-yard run by quarterback T.J. Pryor. Brown’s first touchdown came late in third quarter to put the Tigers ahead again, 13-10.

C.J. Walker put the Colonels ahead again with 5:48 left. But Brown’s second TD came with 1:34 left.

Brown finished with 77 yards on the ground. Calvin McNairl had 124 yards passing for the Tigers. Pryor was 16 of 27 for 197 yards but was picked off twice.
