Decker leads New Hampshire past Towson 57-7

TOWSON, Md. (AP)—Kevin Decker threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score as New Hampshire forced eight turnovers in a 57-7 victory over Towson on Saturday.

Sean Jellison scored on an 81-yard kickoff return and Ryan McGuinness scored on a 96-yard interception return for the Wildcats (4-0, 1-0 Colonial Athletic Association). Peter Athens was 7-for-20 with 67 yards passing with a touchdown, five interceptions for the Tigers (1-3, 0-1).

It was Towson?s worst loss to New Hampshire in the teams? six games.

New Hampshire was without starting quarterback R.J. Toman because of an injured toe. Decker, who made his first career start, proved to be a capable backup by completing 11 of 19 passes for 140 yards.

The Wildcats led 30-0 in the first quarter, highlighted by Chad Kackert’s 7-yard touchdown run and Dino Vasso’s score off a 31-yard interception return.
