McCarty’s 2 TDs lead Albany past St. Francis 27-6

LORETTO, Pa. (AP)—David McCarty ran for two touchdowns to lead Albany (N.Y.) in a 27-6 rout of St. Francis (Pa.) on Saturday.

McCarty rushed for 170 yards on 25 carries for the Great Danes (3-2, 2-0 Northeast Conference), and Vinny Esposito was 13-for-25 with 132 yards and a touchdown.

McCarty started the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run and Herb Glass kicked a 38-yard field goal to give Albany a lead 10-3 after the opening quarter.

Esposito threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Tim Bush to put Albany ahead 17-3 to start the second, and McCarty’s second TD run, a 14-yarder, pushed Albany’s lead to 24-6 in the third.

Josh Thiel kicked field goals of 30 and 18 yards for the only scores for the Red Flash (1-4, 0-2).
