BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP)—Ohio State’s defense finally allowed another score.
The way Terrelle Pryor played, they had plenty of room for error.
The Buckeyes’ sophomore quarterback threw three touchdown passes and rushed for another score, leading No. 9 Ohio State to a 33-14 victory over Indiana on Saturday night.
The Buckeyes (4-1, 2-0 Big Ten) gave up their first points in nine quarters, but were otherwise nearly flawless as they cruised to their 16th straight Big Ten road win, one short of tying the conference record.
“We’ve just got to become a little bit more consistent at executing everything we do,” Tressel said. “We want to do a lot, we want to the throw the ball, we want to be a power team, we want to be an option-type team. We expect a lot out of them.”
Indiana (3-2, 0-2) did little right in its second straight loss. The Hoosiers had three turnovers and gave up a safety after a bad snap on a punt, falling to Ohio State for the 15th straight time.
Brandon Saine ran 17 times for 113 yards, a career high.
The Hoosiers ended Ohio State’s scoreless streak early in the second quarter when Ben Chappell hooked up with Tandon Doss on a 7-yard TD pass. They were hoping for a better showing after nearly upsetting Michigan the week before in Ann Arbor.
“I knew mostly all the coverages they were running, mostly from studying the film a lot,” Pryor said. “I just try to look for a lane as much as I can, and I thought we did a pretty good job.”
Instead, Pryor finished 16 of 27 for 159 yards and rushed 16 times for 63 yards. He heaved a late interception with about six minutes to play in the game, up 33-7.
Ohio State took a 10-0 lead midway through the first quarter, courtesy of Pryor’s 5-yard TD pass to Duron Carter.
Indiana closed to 10-7 early on Doss’ score, but Pryor needed just three plays to answer. He found DeVier Posey for a 23-yard TD pass to make it 17-7, then closed out the first half scoring with an 8-yard TD pass to Zach Boren.
After the safety, Pryor closed it out with a 1-yard TD run early in the fourth quarter.
“I knew mostly all the coverages they were running, mostly from studying the film a lot,” Pryor said. “I just try to look for a lane as much as I can, and I thought we did a pretty good job.”
Chappell was 20 of 34 for 210 yards with two interceptions and two touchdowns, the second as time ran out.
Ohio State defensive tackle Dexter Larimore left the game with a strained right knee. Tressel said he did not believe the 300-pound junior would need surgery but was uncertain how much time Larimore may miss.

Q: Who goes out of their way to bash a college football team where 18-22 year old players are going at it for the love of the game?
A: Spineless, old, bitter people who probably sucked at high school football and could only dream about playing at a Division 1 school. Do something constructive.
#81 is such a waste of life.

when you only come up with 3/15 third down tries for a first down---the woody hayes three yards,a cloud of dust attitude still prevails at osu--didn't work then still doesn't.
pryor like tressel is way overrated, possibly they do not have the great players from past years--great players are not born they are nurtured---don't think tressel knows how to do that--particularly when he calls all the plays---why have a staff if you will not use them.

Until the corporate sponsors and TV networks stop dumping tons of money into the NCAA (and the member schools..the hypocrites), the NCAA ditches that SHAM BCS... ...and institutes a true (legitimate) 16 team playoff system to decide a true national champion (where each and every weekly game will count twice as much as they do now...because...every team will have a shot at the beginning of the season..and not just the 10 or 15 or so at the top of the supremely flawed pre-season poll)...perception, reputation, and the "eye-ball" test will mean everything...whether we think the perception of the BUCKS is true or not...it is what it is...and again, i still say that if the Bucks went undefeated this year...we still don't go to the nat'l champ game in front of a one loss Champion from the SEC or the Big 12...on this point, we are no better than Boise State...or BYU...we need to go undefeated and pray for help, lots and lots of help....

If ND beats Washington and Washington beats USC and USC beats OSU- that would make ND better than OSU- right?? Just kidding and we will have our hands full in two weeks, but sounds good.
Lastly, stop hanging your hats on that 2002 National Championship because it is tarnished. Do you guys remember a guy by the name of Maurice Clarret???

Just wanted to point out we've won two BCS games since 2002 (we won the NC in 2002, NOT 2003). We won the 2003 Fiesta bowl, vs Big 12 Champ Kansas. And then we won the 2005 Fiesta bowl vs 1 loss Notre Dame (that year that their only loss was USC after the infamous "Bush-Push").
We have lost 6 straight vs top 5 teams (Starting with Florida, then in order, LSU, USC, Penn State, Texas, USC)..... We have only lost 7 games in that stretch (the lone none top 5 team we lost too was then #21 Illinois in 2007.
And perceptions are often false. In fact if you want to take away the TD that USC didn't make in the first quarter of this years game, we're undefeated :P

1.) Vince Young led the late 4th quarter drive to knock us off at the Shoe'...his nat'l star was born after that game...we beat UT during McCoy's rookie year (and he got his revenge last year)...
2.) okay, since the 2003 nat'l champ game....we haven't won another BCS game, have we?...I guess getting there is good enough, huh?
3.) UM went 3-9 last year...and lost to App. State a few years back...nuff said
4.) the Big 10 1/2 doesn't play a conf. champ game...and plays an unbalanced schedule...if we had to play a conf. champ game (like they do in the SEC or Big 12)...there's a perception out there that we probably wouldn't have even won all those Conf. Champs...(the Big 10 1/2 is as big a fraud as the BCS)...
5.) The D-Line wasn't "good" enough to stop a freshman QB from leading his team on a 80+-yard drive when we absolutely needed it the most...shutting out Toledo and Illinois is great...but we lost yet another "high-profile" game...
6.) OSU is always in the nat'l spotlight..because we kick the crap out of lesser opponents, squeak through the Big 11 (with no conf. champ game)...and then either fart, choke, or get blown out by "elite" schools in the "huge" games...OSU is always in the nat'l spotlight as a laughingstock and a fraud...
Facts are facts....and the only way to change perception is to beat BCS teams or win BCS games...no more moral victories...and no more excuses....
