UC Davis defeats Western Oregon 29-13

DAVIS, Calif. (AP)—Junior quarterback Greg Denham threw for 225 yards and one touchdown and ran for another score to help UC Davis beat Western Oregon 29-13 Saturday night.

Bakari Grant caught five passes for 61 yards and one touchdown and Chris Carter caught 11 passes for 77 yards for the UC Davis Aggies (1-2).

Quarterback Josh Riddell threw for 200 yards and ran for a TD and receiver Justin Ore caught four passes for 92 yards and a score for the Wolves (2-2).

In the second quarter, defensive back Kenneth Brown’s interception set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Joe Trombetta and Grant caught an 11-yard TD pass from Denham to give the Aggies a 16-0 halftime lead.

Riddell tossed a 41-yard TD pass and scored on an 11-yard run to pull the Wolves within three points in the third quarter. UC Davis countered by scoring the next 13 points to ensure the victory.
