NEW YORK (AP)—James Mallory ran for two touchdowns, sparking Central Connecticut State’s 22 unanswered points in a 22-13 comeback win over Columbia on Saturday.
Mallory rushed for 128 yards on 26 carries to lead the Blue Devils (2-1), and Aubrey Norris was 8-for-8 passing with 135 yards and also rushed for 75 yards and a score.
After M.A. Olawale’s 11-yard connection to Austin Knowlin gave Columbia (1-1) a 13-0 lead with less than 4 minutes to play in the first half, Dominique Rose returned the blocked point-after attempt to make it 13-2.
That was the start of a 22-point run for the Blue Devils.
Mallory scored on runs of 1 and 4 yards in the second half, and Norris had a 28-yard TD run.
The Blue Devils outgained the Lions 325-144 on the ground.
