Central Arkansas beats Western Kentucky 28-7

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP)—Robbie Park threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns to lead Central Arkansas past Western Kentucky 28-7 on Saturday night.

The Bears (1-1), of the Football Championship Subdivision, led throughout against the Hilltoppers (0-3), who are in their first season as a member of the Football Bowl Subdivision and Sun Belt Conference.

Park was 18-for-21 and the Bears had 407 yards of offense, including 193 on the ground.

Brent Grimes rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown and Leonard Ceasar added 81 rushing yards for Central Arkansas. Ceasar had a 51-yard touchdown run to open the scoring for the Bears.

Darrius McNeal caught four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown for the Bears. Preston Echols, who had eight receptions for 87 yards, caught the Bears’ other touchdown

Kawaun Jakes was 9 of 14 with 75 yards and rushed for 28 more for the Hilltoppers.

    Central Arkansas may be FCS, but they are no joke. They nearly knocked off Hawaii as well in Week 1.
