HOUSTON (AP)—Arvell Nelson and Gino Simoni combined for 450 yards passing and four touchdowns as Texas Southern routed Texas College 75-6 Saturday.
It was the second most points in school history for Texas Southern (2-1).
Texas College (0-4) was able to get points on the board this week after falling to Stephen F. Austin 92-0 last Saturday. The team’s only score came when X’Zavier Bloodsaw connected with Isaac Joshua on an 84-yard touchdown pass.
But the offense couldn’t hold up to pressure from Texas Southern.
Bloodsaw threw four interceptions, and teammate Josh Evans added a fifth. Curtis Thomas scored on two of the picks and Rolando Melancon scored on a third. Trent Earley added a TD after recovering a blocked punt.
Marcus Wright ran for two TDs while Brian Haith, Joseph Anderson, Jonathan Hannah and Andrew Thomas all caught touchdown passes.
