NATCHITOCES, La. (AP)—Ismael Bamba’s third-quarter touchdown catch helped North Dakota beat Northwestern State 27-20 on Saturday night.
Bamba caught six passes for 98 yards, including a 55-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining in the third quarter as North Dakota (1-1) built a 25-13 lead.
North Dakota quarterback Landry was 12-of-20 for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Mitch Sutton completed his only pass for a 17-yard touchdown to Ryan Dressler. Sutton also ran for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Wolfe kept Northwestern State (0-3) in the game by completing 25-of-38 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns. Wolfe threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to William Griffin with 1:35 remaining to cut North Dakota’s lead to 25-20.
After Northwestern State failed to convert an onside kick, North Dakota punted the ball to the 2-yard line and got a safety on the game’s final play.
