INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Dan Bohrer tied his school’s record for career touchdown catches Saturday as he pulled down two in Butler’s 42-21 win over Hanover.
Butler (3-0) came out early with a first-quarter interception that Andy Dauch returned for a touchdown.
Hanover (0-3) responded later in the quarter with a Shawn Gibson touchdown but could not keep up as Butler scored the next five TDs in a row.
Bohrer’s two TD catches brought him to 18 in his Butler career—even with Mike Chrobot, who played for the school 1975 to 1978. Andrew Huck, Ricky Trujillo and Scott Gray also scored for Butler.
Hanover tried to mount a late-game comeback with touchdowns by Bobby Smart and Colton Zeck but could not overcome Butler’s large lead.
The game was a do-over for the two teams. The matchup last year was canceled because of severe flooding that knocked out the electricity at Hanover.
