EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)—Carlton Jackson threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Edwin Baptiste in overtime to lift Morgan State to a 16-10 win over Winston-Salem on Saturday.
Jackson, who completed 16 of 21 passes for 146 yards, connected with Jephte Cherenfant on a 4-yard touchdown to give the Bears (1-1) a 7-3 lead in the third quarter. Baptiste finished with five catches for 70 yards.
The Rams (0-3) regained the lead at 10-7 on Jarrett Dunston’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Austin Higgins in the third. Kemar Scarlett’s 42-yard field goal tied the game at 10-10 midway through the fourth quarter.
Dunston completed 5 of 22 passes for 71 yards and threw one interception for Winston-Salem. David Ahola Jr. had a game-high 64 yards on 15 carries.
The game was the 38th annual New York Urban League Classic at Giants Stadium.
