VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP)—Chris Whitney scored three touchdowns and had 236 total yards in Villanova’s 38-17 win over Lehigh on Saturday night.
The Wildcats’ quarterback was 11 of 16 for 106 yards and a passing touchdown and rushed for 130 more yards and two touchdowns.
Villanova (2-0) ran for 310 yards, including 103 on five carries by Matt Szczur.
The Wildcats had 417 yards of total offense, using big plays to reach the end zone.
Villanova scored on a run of 21 yards by Whitney in the first quarter and 39 yards by Aaron Ball in the third. Whitney also connected on a 13-yard touchdown pass to Angelo Babbaro late in the first half.
The Mountain Hawks (0-2) managed just 55 yards on the ground, and were led by JB Clark with 130 yards on 20 of 31 passing.
