Sullivan leads Colgate past Stony Brook 23-13

HAMILTON, N.Y. (AP)—Greg Sullivan passed for 148 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 113 yards to lead Colgate over Stony Brook 23-13 Saturday night.

The junior quarterback had 18 carries to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for his career. Sullivan, who threw touchdown passes of 37 and 35 yards to Pat Simonds in the first half, finished 12 of 23.

Simonds had seven catches for 93 yards for the Raiders (2-0).

Eddie Gowins led the Seawolves (0-2) with 108 yards on 17 carries, including a 39-yard touchdown. Quarterback Michael Coulter was 12 of 29 for 154 yards with two interceptions.

With Colgate ahead 17-7, Stony Brook’s Wesley Skiffington hit consecutive 36-yard field goals. He kicked the first with 1:34 left and the second as time expired to pull the Seawolves within 17-13 at halftime.

The Raiders sealed the win on Garrington Spence’s 15-yard interception return with 3:56 left.
