Arnold scores 4 TDs, Arkansas St. beats MVSU 61-0

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP)—Reggie Arnold rushed for four touchdowns to lead Arkansas St. to a 61-0 victory over MVSU Saturday night in the season opener for both teams.

Arnold, a senior, finished with 126 yards on 12 carries and scored on runs of 3, 20, 26 and 2 yards.

The Red Wolves (1-0) led 20-0 after one quarter and 40-0 at halftime.

Redshirt freshman Don Jones ran for 84 yards and a score, and also caught a touchdown pass from Corey Leonard.

Derek Lawson scored on a 15-yard run and Ryan Aplin and Jermaine Robertson added short touchdown runs for the Red Wolves. MVSU fell to 0-1.

    Nebraska overlooking????? ASU does not even have NU on there schedule on this site.

    That might have been true until Saturday. The Huskers will not overlook anyone that posts a 61-0 victory regardless of how poor of a team Miss Valley State A&M Tech University was. The Huskers will be prepared to have Roy Helu and Zac Lee do most of the pounding before Green and Burkhead enter in the 4th Qtr. after the game is in hand.

    I don't think NU is taking this team very seriously. They feel their freshen in Burkhead and Greene are better than the seniors at Arkansas St. and another game over by the 2nd qtr.
