Devlin’s 2 TDs help Delaware past West Chester

Return to OriginalNEWARK, Del. (AP)—Pat Devlin threw for two touchdowns and ran for another in his debut at Delaware as the Blue Hens beat West Chester, 35-0, in their season opener on Friday night.
Devlin, a highly-touted transfer from Penn State, completed 12-of-15 passes for 227 yards while playing a little less than three quarters. The junior also ran five times for 20 yards.
The Hens finished with an advantage of 403-176 in total yards over the Division II Golden Rams (1-1).
Delaware converted good field position into three first-half touchdowns to take a 21-0 halftime lead. Devlin threw TD passes of seven yards to Josh Baker and 31 yards to Tommy Crosby while also scoring on a one-yard run as Delaware?s first three scoring drives covered 46 yards or less.
For West Chester, Joe Wright completed 8-of-20 passes for 59 yards with an interception.
