BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP)—Demetrius Crawford rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns, and converted receiver Mark Desin threw for a touchdown and ran for another Saturday as injury-riddled Montana State trounced Portland State 49-32 in Big Sky Conference football.
Crawford had scoring runs off 17 and 44 yards as MSU (7-4, 5-2) won its fourth straight game and remained in the hunt for a playoff berth despite having five starters out for the season with injuries. Desin, a sophomore who was moved to quarterback to replace the injured Cody Kempt and Mark Iddins, finished 8 of 15 for 120 yards and two interceptions passing, and added 45 yards rushing.
Portland State (3-7, 2-5), which entered the game averaging a national-best 391.1 yards passing, was limited to 231 yards through the air and 247 overall. The Vikings lost their third straight.
