ITHACA, N.Y. (AP)—Nathan Ford was 25-of-30 for 306 yards and Cornell blocked two kicks in the first quarter to break a four-game losing streak with a 37-14 win over Dartmouth on Saturday.
Graham Rihn blocked the Big Green’s first field goal attempt and Andy Wade returned it 69 yards for a touchdown for Cornell.
It was Rihn’s third blocked field goal of the season. Horatio Blackman had the Big Red’s other block.
Ford threw the second longest touchdown pass in school history, connecting with Bryan Walters on a 96-yard flea flicker early in the second half to expand the Big Red’s lead.
Cornell (4-4, 2-3 Ivy League) also had three rushing touchdowns, including two from Luke Siwula. Randy Barbour had the other to start the Big Red’s run of 30 consecutive points to begin the game.
Milan Williams had a 3-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter to get Dartmouth on the board after a roughing the kicker penalty extended the Big Green’s drive.
Tim Bax, Rashad Campbell and Dario Arezzo all had interceptions for Cornell, which had only two picks on the season entering the game.
Quarterback Conner Kempe scored the other touchdown on a 1-yard keeper for Dartmouth (0-8, 0-5), while Tim McManus caught 10 passes for 122 yards.
