MACOMB, Ill. (AP)—Quarterback Zach Davis completed 13-of-21 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown to lead University of Northern Iowa past Western Illinois 30-6 on Saturday.
Corey Lewis, who had 87 yards on the ground, also added a touchdown for the Panthers (7-2, 5-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference). Derrick Law added 70 yards and a score as well.
Northern Iowa scored in every quarter and were up 20-3 at the half. It took the Leathernecks (5-3, 3-2) until the second quarter to get on the board with a 30-yard field goal by Taylor Rowan.
Billy Hallgren started the scoring for the Huskies six minutes into the game with a 24-yard field goal. Lewis soon followed up with a five-yard rush that pushed the team to its first touchdown. Hallgren kicked it in to take the game to 10-0.
