WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP)—David Sinisi ran for four touchdowns to lead Monmouth to a 30-20 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
Sinisi, who finished with 194 yards on 29 carries, had touchdown runs of 3 and 17 yards in the first quarter to give the Hawks (5-3, 4-0 Northeast Conference) an early 14-0 lead. He added another 3-yard scoring run in the second quarter, then rumbled in from 30 yards out on Monmouth’s opening drive in the second half.
Eric McCutcheon added a 24-yard field goal for the Hawks, who won their fifth straight game.
James Mallory nearly matched Sinisi’s output, scoring three touchdowns for the Blue Devils (5-3, 2-2) while gaining 134 yards on 24 carries.
Mallory opened the scoring when he ran in from four yards out midway through the first quarter, culminating a 13-play, 73-yard drive. He then added a pair of 3-yard scoring runs in the second half.
