MONROE, La. (AP)—Kinsmon Lancaster accounted for three touchdowns and 266 total yards to lead Louisiana-Monroe to a 35-23 win against North Texas on Saturday night.
Lancaster completed 12 of 21 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown, and added 95 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries for the Warhawks (2-5, 1-2 Sun Belt Conference).
Giovanni Vizza completed 37 of 61 passes for 362 yards with two touchdowns for the Mean Green (0-7, 0-3).
Lancaster ran for a 54-yard score to open the first quarter.
He then connected with Luther Ambrose on a 69-yard score, and Rodney Lovett had a 49-yard touchdown run to give the Warhawks a 21-0 lead after one quarter.
Louisiana-Monroe scored again on Lancaster’s 5-yard run to open the second quarter, and the Mean Green’s Jeremy Knott hit field goals of 27 and 28 yards to give the Warhawks a 35-6 halftime advantage.
North Texas outscored Louisiana-Monroe 17-0 in the second half, including Vizza’s touchdown passes of 13 and 19 yards.
