Lehigh wins shootout over Fordham, 45-24

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP)—J.B. Clark threw four touchdown passes and ran for another score as Lehigh beat Fordham 45-24 on Saturday.

Matt McGowan rushed 24 times for 110 yards and a TD for the Mountain Hawks (2-3).

John Skelton led the way for Fordham (2-3) with 265 yards passing, but was also intercepted twice and sacked five times.

After Lehigh took a 23-17 lead at the half, Skelton gave Fordham its only lead of the day early in the third quarter. His 7-yard TD to Asa Lucas capped an 82-yard drive and put the visitors up 24-23.

But Lehigh took over from there, scoring three unanswered touchdowns to close out the scoring.

Less than two minutes after Lucas’ TD reception, Clark scored on a 7-yard run, capping a 77-yard drive and putting Lehigh in front 30-24.

In the fourth quarter, Clark capped another 77-yard drive with a 5-yard TD pass to Craig Zurn. A 2-point conversion pass to Troy Healion made it 38-24.

McGowan’s TD run with less than two minutes to go iced the game for the Mountain Hawks.

Xavier Martin rushed 13 times for 61 yards and a TD for Fordham.
