Dixon leads Duquesne over St. Francis, Pa. 21-7
PITTSBURGH (AP)—Connor Dixon threw three touchdown passes—including a 91-yarder—in the second quarter to lead Duquesne to a 21-7 victory over St. Francis, Pa. on Saturday night.
The win gave the Dukes their first victory as a member of the Northeastern Conference.
Dixon threw touchdown passes of 12 yards to Alex Roberson and 9 yards to Michael Rasky early in the second quarter. Then, with Duquesne (1-1, 1-0 Northeast Conference) pinned deep in its own territory after a Red Flash turnover in the final seconds before halftime, Dixon found Conrad Carter streaking down the left sideline for a 91-yard scoring strike just before the break.
Dixon finished 13-for-25 for 211 yards and completed all five of his attempts in the second quarter for 150 yards.
Calvin Williams got St. Francis (0-3, 0-1) on the board in the first quarter with a 9-yard touchdown run. But the Red Flash were hurt by George Little’s three interceptions, two of which were made by Chidozie Oparanozie deep in Duquesne territory.
